Unless it's a roster of five and four-star players along with coaches to match, will it really change anything?
Maybe not but regardless of the on field results it produces or not UTEP facilities are still in dire need of a face-lift.
“Major impact on the region”, doesn’t scream athletics to me
Isn’t the softball facility “new-ish”? Doesn’t UTEP have a newer basketball practice facility?
Probably Mackenzie Scott, Jeff Bezos ex. She recently donated $30 M to EPCC and $40 M to UTRGV. So it could be a pretty significant donation. A good amount of it can get allocated to athletics if Wilson chooses. She has a great relationship with Jim Senter and likes him a lot, so hopefully she helps the athletic department out a bit.
Nothing at all. She has been giving to a bunch of different organizations over the past 2 years. In El Paso she has given millions to the YWCA, The El Paso Community Foundation, and a few others.
I’ll bet whatever it is, it will be a letdown.
That’s my guess. Im not getting my hopes up either because it could be something inconsequential too.
Not everything is lost for Mexico, they can still miss the flight back home.

One of EP’s biggest philanthropists is dropping some fat coin for the business school. This person already gives to almost everything in town - including UTEP athletics. It s not Paul Foster.
Its Khalid he is opening a music program at Utep. He will also start a label and give Basketball and football players record deals if they commit to Utep.

You're obviously not seeing the long play here. In 50 years we will be pumping out fortune 500 ceo's. They in turn will donate huge money and sign UTEP to multi million dollar contracts with their corporations. Brilliant thinking by everyone involved.
I want to know how they will quantify “make UTEP the national leader on U.S.-Mexico business and trade” and who is the current leader of this subject?
Why do it in the Larry K Durham Center if it has nothing to do with athletics?

My only guess is that since it’s a normal school day and the football season is over, probably provides the most space with the least interruption.
Damn I legit thought the couple who were messing around on the mountain during that Texas game in 2009 were donating an IPF....
That’s the beauty of it - they can use nearly any metric they can find that ranks UTEP #1 and stake a claim on that argument. Standard marketing stuff
So Senter has nothing to with this. When will he get a big donation like this?? IF i was AD i would have donors begging wanting to donate to Utep.
If you were the Ad we be an independent, and no one would donate dime.

President Wilson is doing an amazing job! I don't think even the board imagined how much money she would bring to the school for academics.
