Yup I told my brother you can’t let it come down to a FG and after getting second life after the offsides Utep should’ve been way more aggressive and closed out this game!
He took a shit on the carpet and UTEP just let him do it.

Seriously.... how can you not assume that this is UTEP sports. This is the culture. I didn't even predict an outcome in the OPT cause I had a bad feeling bout this. This is Tim Floyds first game all over again. This is the Buffalo game. We suck donkey balls.
You have to know your personnel and buzz was clearly in his own head. Walden has to be more aggressive in that instance!

Look. The way they played, they didn’t deserve to win. I’ll admit it. The penalties killed them. How can you have penalties on kickoffs on two consecutive weeks!!?? The special teams is penalized as much as most teams. I read it was the most penalties since 2005.
Sad part is we can’t even use the excuse of it’s gonna take time for Walden to adjust to fbs football. He played a team from Austin Peay’s conference.

Crazy there was actually optimism when this dude recruited an FCS roster with an offensive scheme that hasn’t had success in the FBS. The program is in a bad place, I don’t care what the inflated Rival recruiting rankings say.
We just gave a mediocre fcs team their biggest win in the last 10 years of their program. That's how terrible we are, that we're someone's biggest win.
My brothers flew in from out of town to watch the first game of the Walden era with my dad and me and this was the result. I'm glad I can stop caring about college football so early in the year this season.

I hate hearing the same excuses I’ve heard for the last two decades. Is there anything better he could say? Obviously you don’t want to throw your players under the bus Deion Sanders style.
I can accept losing due to a lack of talented players but when you see the same types of mistakes as last year, it doesn't give much hope for the future. It makes you question whether Walden can get it done. You want to see at least good fundamentals, discipline, play calling and adjustments . Seeing that those things are improved rather than worse would make me feel like we're in the right track. Doesn't seem that way. Kinda feels like it does with Golding and Basketball.
Ultimately, it falls in Senter. He loves these ra-ra young guys that are probably better cheerleaders than coaches. they blow smoke up his ass and he loves it.

The loss last week to Nebraska was a lot easier to take than this week.
Yeah I wasn’t impressed with Scotty’s one hit wonder season. It was good enough to fool Senter which is not that hard to do. I laid off the heat and allowed him to work. I’ll die on the hill that UTEP needs a proven veteran coach that has had success at the power level.

Dude just talks too much. It's like he's telling opponents what the team is trying to do. Giving future opponents game plan points. Thought he did so after the NEB game too telling what they wanna do on offense. He's a motivator, learning to "coach." Needs to reel in the fake hustle. Fact of the matter is he lost a BIG number of fans tonight who just won't give a s h i t anymore after this.

It’s still too early to say that he’s going to fail. I sincerely hope not but I get what you’re saying. Kugler had the “we’re going to outwork everyone” approach and I think Walden has the “We’re going to out-dude bro everyone” approach. Listening to his post game you can tell that game kicked his teeth in. If there were recruits visiting I’m sure he’s thought they were going to see a show.
Now if there’s a silver lining, penalties can be corrected. The kicking game? We’re in deep trouble.

Has there ever been a year where Utep lost to a FBS/D2 school and ended up having a decent season? I for one don’t recall. Before the season I believed 5-7. Now I think the ceiling is 3 wins and the floor 1. Walden is going to have his work cut out getting El Paso to give him another shot though!

Killing momentum is the worse thing that could've ever happened.
The best was when Teich would take the calls. He had 0 patience. I remember he kids would call in and if they were taking to long to talk he’d give them the boot.
he was an absolute a$$ in those days, (im sure he still is) and bernie didn't help 🤣
