I hope he plays. I’d like to play them at full strength. It would be a better barometer of where we are defensively.
I have posted before. I usually don’t and will probably continue that way.
Agree. I also think Powell gets his chance at guarding him. He needs to show more on the defensive end.
Yeah, hopefully we get to see what Powell is made of. So far I’ve been unimpressed. Hoping the level of competition raises his own and we get to see why Golding wanted him as bad as he did.

We’re just a tad late rotating when our big hedges out to the perimeter. If we can get the timing right, our defense will be tough.
Kalu is worthless on the offensive side of the ball. 0-3 on his FTs. Here we go again.
Defense started good, but UCSB is now slicing it up. Figured Traore would be a problem.
He's keeping us in the game, so far. We have generated turnovers, but overall the defense has been poor. Way too much fouling.
Powell is a great addition to this team. He can shoot from all areas.
I guess we know why Powell was the player model for the new uniforms.
The UCSB coach is wildly more animated than Coach Joe, never thought someone could outdo him.
Would love Coach Joe to sternly chat it up with some refs. Work those refs a little bit Coach!

Welp, seems we have a bit of a scorer in ZiP or whatever moniker we want to make for Zid. Kinda liking what I've seen so far in him.
Cant remember the last impact Freshman like David Terrell.
Satisfied with the first half. Make free throws and UTEP will win.
If we can figure how to play set defense, we might have a chance to be pretty decent. That's a big if, though.

Yeah, he certainly doesn’t play like a freshman. Looks about as polished as anyone on the court.
Well, first game of the season we look OK so far. Though Dos Anjos looks lost out there. Terrell is a spark plug. Powell will succeed in CUSA.
Remember folks, don’t get attached to any of these players that are wowing you. At least 10 of them will be gone after the season is over.
The kid‘s the real deal. I saw him play in high school and was very impressed with his game. He plays hard and is a very smart player.
I like our intensity on defense, which lead to ten turnovers. However, we have to be careful and not pick up cheap fouls and do a better job at the free throw line.
I’ve got to say, very impressed with this team. Actual athleticism and skill. Looking forward to the season now.
