Who Does CUSA Add?

The same Mcmurphy that broke the Colorado St and Air Force to AAC move was done?
That everyone else said was done too? And it was, they were going to be added, but when AFA and CSU big boosters thought about it, they said no. You’re a fool if you think otherwise.

He broke the news then everyone reporting on it cited him. Yes he was wrong before and could be wrong again. A report from a week ago might as well be outdated by now, the way things are moving.

I was lambasted for suggesting scenarios with Marshall still. Now we see that nothing is for sure until the dotted line is signed. Marshall is and has always been the key to CUSA not only surviving, but potentially making it out of this in decent shape. Offer Marshall what MWC offered Boise St. and make them our flagship team. They are the only team that every 10 years at least has a chance of making a run at a BCS Bowl game and have a recognized tradition. I've said this before, less is more sometimes. 14 teams is too many for a group of 5 in my opinion. I'd like to see CUSA at 10 and if you wanna add Sam Houston St and another FCS to make 12 that's the max.
Dude, they’re gone. They’re not going to stay to play UTEP, LaTech, and FIU. Are you high? They’re joining the Sun Belt to be with “Southern” schools.

And Vannini said that Wyoming and Colorado St didn’t play during the WAC16. They’ve played every year since early 19 something.

Not sure how "key" they really are. That's a bit hyperbolic. They are a very decent football school, but haven't want a conference title in 6 or 7 years. I honestly think Liberty fills that void of making a "BCS Bowl". Already posted a 10 win ranked season 2 years into bowl eligibility, and have very deep pockets with a national profile (although not exactly a good national profile).

Keeping Marshall, would be a pretty decent coup. Not sure why in the world they would bother to stay with the super regional structure of the new SBC, but the money might not be all that great in a bigger conference.

If Liberty joins, they’re not backing up the brinks truck like they tried 5 years ago. They’ll get the same deal as everyone else gets. Just because they have money, doesn’t mean they’re stupid.

Don't think Liberty really cares about the actual conference revenue in this case. They probably just want validation and easier scheduling.

And the playoffs money. And a chance at an Access bowl. If they finished the season ranked as the highest G5 team they're in.

But other teams do. Why would UTEP want to send their volleyball team and basketball teams there every year, when they don’t have to? If they’re able to get an actual TV deal, it will be for less than they get now. UTEP doesn’t want to spend more, when they will be getting less.

You shit on regional FCS calls up and shit on a rich FBS team. No matter what happens you'll find something to shit about.

From a travel standpoint SHSU and TSU make sense. However, they’re unprepared to make a quick decision on a far flung conference. If that’s “shitting on them” then okay. Liberty has good athletics, but they don’t belong in a conference with UTEP. Especially one without a division setup where they don’t play frequently in olympic sports.

That's where UTEP is at. We might as well make the best out of it. If I lived in a shithole apartment I would still keep it clean, buy the best furniture I could afford and be content with my lot on life. No point on pissing on the floor and lamenting my situation.

How do you know they will be getting less AND does UTEP really have a choice?

We have already been sending our Oly sports across the country for nearly 2 decades. Even with Liberty in the conference, we are going to have to do it a lot less than we were before which will save money.

The current CUSA TV deal is so horrible, it might as well be nothing. Even if they get a new deal for less money, if there are fewer mouths to feed it still might result in a net positive. I could also easily see the new CUSA sign on with a streaming service or create one of their own to increase revenue. I'd pony up $5 a month to watch, as would fans across many other schools.

Bro, 1st of all I'm not high unfortunately rn, cause I'm working! So I've read multiple reports saying the new president will have a tough decision. Just because you aggressively voice your opinion, doesn't make it correct. What you're not realizing is it is a tough decision. A. Be a middle team amongst 14 others and split the pie 14 ways where only half will get bowls and 1 NCAA bid. vs B. You'll be the flagship program in a 10 team league that will have the opportunity to get a better TV deal and have a bigger piece of the pie. Everyone says Marshall is what this all hinges on. I'd rather be the prettiest girl in the room than the 5th or 6th. You seem to not understand or are not reading the inside articles that I am, that this is very much up in the air. A dream scenario would be Marshall stating and attracting Liberty and changing JMU's mind. It isn't likely to happen, but this 10 team league would be a Huge win for CUSA and would be a multiple bid league in basketball. I'm sorry you think you know everything, but you obviously don't! You can yell as loud as you can, that doesn't make you smart, it just makes you loud! I'm not saying Marshall for sure will stay, I'm saying there's still a chance and a viable reason for them to consider it. You're saying there's no chance in Hell, and that's not in line with College Football writers, but you think you know more than them lol
Dream Scene for CUSA UTEP, NMSU, Sam Houston St, La Tech, Middle Tennessee, W. Kentucky, Marshall, FIU, JMU, Liberty.
I said Dream Scenario, not likely, but I guarantee that's what CUSA is selling to Marshall, Liberty and JMU.

I firmly believe 2 things. Marshall is going to the SBC and CUSA will rebuild.

The speculation on who the conference will rebuild with will continue until it's done.

Also, it doesn't matter how negative 92 is or how positive I am. What will be, will be. Que sera, sera.

Well yeah, but it helps to be realistic.

CUSA will try to rebuild. I have my doubts they will get there though.

Did he even read NattyLights “dream scene”?
I said Dream Scenario and what CUSA was definitely selling. I didn't say it'd happen, please read where I said unlikely. However that was being sold to Marshall and according to MC Murphy Marshall didn't bite that's all. It would've been ideal for CUSA, and as I said the other teams were based on Marshall's decision. If CUSA would've hired me, I'm a salesman and believe I could've sold them on my Dream Scenario lol

By the way I wasn't just pulling my information out of my ass or hoping based on nothing. This is what I had my last bit of hope based on! That was on CBS this morning. Obviously this didn't work out for CUSA.

All eyes are on Marshall. Marshall has a tough decision," said a source intimately involved in the Conference USA discussions before Marshall made its call Friday. "Decide to go to the Sun Belt and be a middle-of-the-pack program in a 14-team league, or stay in Conference USA and be the most tradition-rich program and compete for championships."

Marshall is going to win championships in the SB too. They beat a ranked App St last season on CBS and this year lost by 1 point in Boone in front of a packed house. It would make absolutely zero sense for Marshall to stay behind and play in LC and Stephenville.

Whatever makes you feel better dude. They were never going to remain in CUSA to play NMSU, UTEP, LaTech, and FIU instead of playing old Southern Conference rivals and having “better” travel. Oh and play on ESPN instead of Facebook, Stadium, and CBSSN.

Marshall Out.

So, Marshall's president was allegedly on some local morning show saying that everything was still up in the air. A couple hours later, they're in the Sun Belt.

It just goes to show that you can't believe anything anyone says right now - sources, reporters, administrators, etc. Everyone has their own reasons, agendas, and posturing.

If Marshall would've chose to stay I don't think CUSA would've pursued Tarleton St. It doesn't matter now, they're officially gone, moving on.

If an AD or President mentions a conference specifically, not happening. If they tap dance and don’t say anything concrete, something is probably happening. This is taught in AD 101.

Senter came out and said, they were all in on CUSA or whatever. That means, UTEP has no other options. If UTEP had other options, he would have said something like, “We will do what’s best for our programs and nothing has been decided”. That way he can walk it back if it falls through or they genuinely decided to stay in CUSA.
