Why does Greenlee telegraph every hand-off?

He stretches the ball WAY out in an exaggerated way as soon as he receives the snap, letting everybody know that this will indeed be a hand-off. It would be comical if it weren't so sad.

What he does is text book and coached. The D line judges by how the O line come up, down or pull to block and all within a split second. The Mike linebacker (Alvin most of the time) is the qb of the defense and communicates to the line and should recognize who, what, when and where based on (film) study, familiarity with formations, O line breaks off the ball. If you noticed Friday Alvin blew up quiet a few plays because he knew. It was one of the few bright spots (along with Will laying out whateverr came his way).
