Yeah but not even close to being ranked. A 5-0 team should be ranked. They have some quality wins.
Don't shoot the messenger, please! I am telling you stuff the general public, who follows college football passively, does not. The SI office of FBS schools vote for the coach, typically. Some college coaches, when highly motivated, vote for vendetta purposes (they will never admit that publicly but former coaches like Briles were notorious for doing just that) or to push their conference. Yes, it's biased, somewhat.
Now when it comes to the G5 mid majors that where info trickling from your social media/ESPN/FOX Sports get muddied and hurts a team like UTSA. We on here and CUSA know UTSA is good this year, but the SI assistant at the office in Wisconsin, Washington, USC, Georgia, etc., does not. Sad but true, but do you really think a team like Texas State, who consider UTSA a main rival, will give them a vote? Probably not. As a highly rated recruit once told Price years ago, "Whatsa a UTEP?!", that's what they are saying Sunday night on the tabulator as the assistant is binging on Netflix, "UTSA? I didn't know they were in CUSA?". FBS coaches do not have time to keep up with 130 FBS teams, they leave it to the Sports Information Dept..
