Willie Cager called in to Sportstalk yesterday and I was hoping he would say that UTEP needs a change at head coach. Unfortunately, the opposite occurred. He said Floyd is "dynamite" and that Floyd is a good guy and that the only thing needs to change is the offense. He also said the Haskins Center center should be full. I'm curious if he was paid for by the athletics department to say that. I wouldn't be surprised. He also said he was running for mayor and his platform are "the kids". I think he has a very very slim chance and eventhough I have met him numerous times and think Cager is a great man who wants to do good for the city, he was against the ballpark and seems like he is against change and just wants things done for the kids.

Like it or not, Floyd still has support in this town among old guard fans.
