Look at the city's prior city manager, Tommy Gonzalez. Dude had resigned in scandal here in the Dallas area and he was somehow still hired and not only that, but scammed his way into raises every year that he was here. Now he's out in Midland running his racket there.

I agree. How do we fix that? El Pasoans may not be online enough or engaged enough as a whole so what are some ways to get people to respond? Billboards? I mean, people are driving their cars to work. Radio? TV? I haven't lived in EP in a very long time so I am the last person to know what would get El Pasoans to finally make the message loud and clear to UTEP (and, really, overall to city leadership) that "enough is enough."

What will it take to get EP back to that leadership we had back in the 1950s when EP was more progressive than -- take a breath -- San Antonio. Yes, El Paso back in the 1950s was more progressive and advanced than San Antonio and look where SA is now.

I love my hometown but, mother fvck, it pisses the fvck out of me to see how we keep getting bypassed by other cities and universities...
