Just wondered how they are doing and how well Barbee will do/recruit...

They are 1-6 so far, but they have played Mizzou, DePaul, UK, Xavier and Gonzaga. Nice schedule.

I watched some of the Kentucky game. I wish UTEP would play a schedule like that instead of playing “real” games vs WNMU and NMMU.

Barbee has his work cut out for him, but CMU isn’t a “basketball school”, so they could probably care less what he does this year.

Totally agree on the schedule. I wonder if Barbee (in retrospect) ever kicked himself for bolting from UTEP. I'm sure he if financually secure, but he left a potential legacy behind.

20/20 hindsight. Billy and Doc might be kicking themselves too. Could have stayed here a long time as well. I can’t blame them for wanting something bigger. BG got the UK job for Christ sake. What could have been.

I think Barbee left a year too early, however at the time I think he was very aware of the reload that was a year away. Should have taken the Miners to two tourneys in a row then had better than Auburn come calling. Oh, hindsight…

Barbee set it up to have that one great season and then leverage it, just happened it was 1 year earlier than planned.

Barbee should've at least waited till after our NCAA game at half time against Butler. Or so the story goes.
