- UTEP’s offense was completely shut-out in 23 of the last 30 quarters this season.

- UTEP’s offense did NOT score a Touchdown in 25 of the last 30 quarters this season.

- Since Brian Natkin became our Offensive Coordinator, our Offense was completely shut-out in 25 out of the 36 quarters that he Coached.

- In total, UTEP’s offense had 12 scoreless half’s of football this season(7 scoreless second half’s and 5 scoreless first half’s)......we played 12 games.

- In total, UTEP’s offense was completely shut-out in 32 of the 48 quarters played during this entire season.

- First winless season in school history.

Nice work. Thank so for keeping a running tab on this. Puts things in perspective.

Finally... the Kugler era is gone for good... Hopefully we get a good coach that wont recruit El Paso... much. And will pass the ball. Til next year! Now to focus on firing Floyd lol... jk I hope they do good!

No. Recruit El Paso. Don't blame local recruits on Kugs pathetic game prep. That's on him 100%. The next few months, year and two years will tell how his recruiting stacked up. Some may transfer and we'll never know.

I wonder how this season’s futility ranks in comparison to the 73 and 64 teams. This was a bitter pill to swallow, and in hindsight I wish Kugler wouldn’t have stepped down. Not because I feel he should not have been fired. But he created this mess, and I think the least he should have to do is sit there in front of the fans/media and face the music. I can’t knock on the kids because they tried and props to Price for letting UTEP hang up a couple more Ls on the old record for 40k. I wouldn’t have done that.

He definatley overrecruited El Paso. There may be at most five d1 recruits in any given year. Kugler took way to many reaches on El Paso kids. He did a great job getting the jones brothers, redox and elmendorf. However, he missed on many more El Paso kids. I won't throw kids under the bus so I will withhold names. There are several el paso kids on scholarship who might on their best day be able to play at eastern or western new mexico but certainly not fbs football. The next coach has to have a national recruiting strategy. For recruiting purposes we are an out of state school when recruiting Texas. I think the perfect mix of players would be 60% Texas 30% California 10% other states.

Very insightful and good point.

But while Kug was not FBS HC material, I think he is a man of courage and character. That took cahones to step down. It's not like he covered up an internal domestic abuse complaint, falsified academic classes or transcripts, called 1-800 love lines or seen publictly intoxicated at a public venue. He was the total opposite and ran a clean program for the most part. He got boys on a graduating path.

Fair enough. I respect that view point. But it’s unfortunate he got to bounce and Price and the kids were stuck seeing this through. On that level it makes me a little angry Kugler wasn’t retained.
