I don't know how I feel about UTEP being the 1sr D-1 offer for some of these kids 🤔
Just like modern day marriage, you're committed until "something better" offers.
Not that utep is better than unt though.
Commitments are not binding. If you all recall some P5 schools were known to have poached some UTEP football comits under Coach Price. College sports is a cut throat business.

Goes both ways. Late commit Oniel Cousins slipped away from OU if I remember the story correctly. He went on to become a good lineman in the NFL.

Hey we will take whatever we can get. He had one other FbS offer. He's from a big HS.
This is why it's so important UTEP recruit the DFW area. We have people complaining about utep being the first offers for a few kids... well, they are from big time HS programs in the talent rich parts of the state.
If I had to pick a kid with zero offers, I’d prefer UTEP takes a kid from Dallas over a kid from El Paso.
No doubt the DFW area is loaded with talent. Some of the runner ups were also DFW schools. Every major program is recruiting this area. As I stated before, UTEP coaches have to make it a point to hit this area hard and form relationships with these coaches and athletes. That’s how you get these kids familiarized with UTEP.
There were 22 visitors if I remember reading correctly. So he must mean 13 commits.
Duncanville, DeSoto, and South Oak Cliff are 3 of the best programs in the nation and they’re all within an 11 mile radius.
I would also assume most of the commits are Austin Peay guys
He either is really fast or his level of competition is weak. He's coming from Florida so can't be too bad.
247 has Shay Smith as a commitment. That's a big get for Scotty.
