I think I'd be upset if UTEP won the conference and then didn't get to go to the NCAA or even the NIT.

I’m more upset that the men’s basketball and football teams suck dick year after year.
...and to add to that, no apparent moves are being made to change that.
To be fair, the season ended yesterday and I don’t expect many firing/hirings in cbb until
the virus thing blows over.
Well Senter, Dimel and Terry are all safe so no firings of any consequence would happen anyway.
While I can’t exclude a change in personnel with my comment, I meant more in terms of game time adjustments, mid season adjustments, adjustments in philosophy, overall growth over the course of the season, attitudinal adjustments, accountability, etc...
True. It really defies logic when all of us can see UTEP was a shitty 3 point shooting team, but it looks like they had the green light to shoot whenever. Terry sucks.
I had my doubts about him during the hiring process. Was also vocal at the end of last season about how little team growth occurred. I am even more certain now that he is not a quality Xs and Os coach. However, I’m tired of banging my head against the wall waiting for him to get the axe. Ain’t happenin’. Sigh...
I really don’t give Terry too much shit. He made one NCAA in seven years and has a .500 overall record against D1 teams. I kind of figured we would be a middle of the road team. I did buy into the hype and thought they might be good enough to contend for a championship. But overall I expect this team to hang around the 6-11 spots and occasionally make a run for the title.
Craig Smith took over a .500 Utah St team and was going to the NCAAs in his first two years. Doesn’t take long to turn it around. I guess it’s easier to turn around a MWC school than in CUSA.......

I don’t follow either team. Just letting you know. Now I know that you don’t have any expectations and are fine with average results. It doesn’t take 10 years to turn around a basketball program; except at UTEP. Where some of their fans are cool with only beating the worst teams in the league.
Ok man. And what am I suppose to do complain and bitch that Terry didn’t make the ncaa? Does that make everything better? Or should I just accept that sometimes hires don’t work out or sometimes it takes longer.
You can complain about anything you want to. I will be complaining that he didn’t even come close to the NCAAs. We will have to accept it because Senter will not fire him. Even though he should, if Bryson leaves.

Not based on this year. No. Based on his trajectory. If you think they will be better without Bryson and maybe 2-4 others next year, then no. That’s why I said without Bryson. As this team will likely be worse and it would be better to start over than have 2 lame duck seasons with him as coach.
BTW, he might have doubled his wins. However, 3 were over D2, 3 others over Rice, 5 were over USM, MTSU, and UTSA. His best win was a home win over NMSU, who was without several injured players. If you just look at numbers without context, we did fine. When you actually look at what he did, he didn’t do jack shit.
14-15 vs D1 teams. This is UTEP, not Utah Valley or Longwood. Incremental improvement is fine coming off probation or something.
So you want us to pay Terry 2.2 million to not coach? This is a very smart move. It will probably help us lure a better coach and we can pay him more.
Yeah, much better to have 2 wasted, rebuilding, excuse filled seasons instead????
