MW is trash! They always get 2-4 bids then lay an egg in the NCAA. CUSA teams do more with their opportunity than them despite having a much worse seed! This is a consistent theme not just this year.

Did they get 3 or 4 bids? I noticed they weren't the lower seeds in any of their 3 that I saw, all losses.

Boise is down big and most likely will lose against Memphis. That would make it 0-3 if that holds. I don’t see how the MWC got 4 teams in while CUSA only got one. As much as I dislike UAB, I hope they make a run in the tourney.

They got a tough draw in UH. I think it’s one and done this year for the CUSA rep.

Colorado St. Boise St and SDSU got seeded way to high that's a joke. They're working the system somehow. They are highly ranked, cause they beat on each other, but don't have super great wins in non conference. However they don't play as many D2 and sub 200 teams like CUSA does. They are definitely overblown and I don't think much better than our top 4 of N. Texas, UAB, La Tech and M. Tennessee. They're Net ratings are proving to be a sham. They probably will go 0-4

CSU: Beat Creighton and St Mary's. Love it or hate it but St Mary's is the equivalent of a Q1 win.

Wyoming: Beat Washington. The NCAA considers wins against P5 schools as a Q1 win even if the P5 school team is not so good.

Boise State: Beat Washington State and Ole Miss.

SDSU: Beat Arizona State and Georgetown and St Mary's. Good scheduling by SDSU this year.

So why four? There you go. They got it done in OOC when needed and in conference. It's not about bowing out early in the NCAA, it's about getting it done to get invited to it.

Y'all are ridiculous. The mountain west is a great conference. They have been praised all year. Stop bashing. Odds are UAB gets run outta the building. That don't take away from from CUSA should have gotten a second bid......

my gawd you guys bitch about everything

Not true. It’s a very specific criteria that determines a quad 1 opponent.

Its all about Q1 wins during the regular season. Those 4 teams combined for 20 of them. All 14 CUSA teams combined for 5.
The Q1 wins were mostly against each other that is why, that's exactly the point I pointed out. Either way yet again they proved overrated!

The MWC was definitely overrated and didn’t deserve to have 4 teams in this year. I was very surprised with the high seeds they received and thought they had good matchups. I understand some of the logic used, however, the proof is in the pudding. They are 0-3 and those weren’t even close games. The NCAA and NIT tourneys are the true measures of how strong teams and conferences are.

So, we want to be in the mountain west, yet bash this? That make sense.

0-4 is awful and MWC has consistently sucked in the Tourney which I love!!! Yes I'm a Hater as long as they reject UTEP lol

Not true. It’s a very specific criteria that determines a quad 1 opponent.
““Quad 1” wins are the headliners on any resume. The quadrant includes home games against teams in the top 30 of NET, neutral-site games against the top 50 and road games against the top 75. For example, Kansas – No. 1 in the AP Top 25 – entered March with an 11-3 record in Quadrant 1”

And? Obviously quad 1 wins are the headliners on any resume. That’s not what I refuted, nor what you said.

You said a win against a P5 opponent, even if they’re not good, counts as a Q1 win by the NCAA. Not true. If anything, you proved the point I made about quad 1 wins being very specific.

I received a Master's Degree from SDSU. While I don't follow the team, I like it when the Aztec's win. Stupid SDSU was in control most of that game, but really sucked down the stretch and in OT.

Also, I know that most here are ecstatic over the MWC going 0-4, but I hate Indiana and Michigan way more than I hate Wyoming and CSU (part of my hating all high majors thing).

Right! I love all these big talkers on here while we're playing in a shitty tournament.

Don’t be surprised to see the A10 make a nice run. Davidson will beat Michigan State and don’t be surprised if Richmond upsets Providence. Davidson is the Gonzaga of the east coast.

Gonna be tough. I think MTSU then UAB are the best and most balanced teams; UNT can beat anyone if they get hot, but they can also lose to anyone if they can’t hit FTs

It’s not bashing, it’s calling it what it is. I think many of us see the MWC as a good geographical fit for UTEP since we were members of the old WAC. The MWC is a better football league than CUSA, however, in basketball CUSA has been better. As Miner fans we want to rekindle some old rivalries and that’s why we want to get into the MWC. I hope we continue our progress in football and basketball so we can get a MWC invite in the next round of realignments, since the new watered down version of CUSA won’t create excitement for UTEP fans. The MWC is 0-8 in the last few years in the tournament. Utah St also lost in the first round of the NIT. It would be stupid to say they are great basketball conference when the results tell a different story. Over the last few years CUSA has had more teams get past the first round.

UAB v Houston should be like last nights game between USF and Murray State. Ertel gets hot like he has been the past few weeks, Houston better watch out. There will be a major big man battle inside as well. This will be a great game.

I just have a feeling UH is going to guard the heck out of Jelly. If Jelly goes off, ala Allen vs UConn, then UAB has a good shot.

UH by 12-15😬
Idk man. I think you still have your cougar colored lenses on. UH has to be one of the most over rated teams in the nation. Their only q1 win of the year is against SMU, that for some reason was played on a neutral court. Had it been played at home they would have no q1 wins.
