I’ll say 5-7….maybe 6-6 if CSW can hand over the offensive play calling.
GO MINERS!

Number one recruiting class in Conference USA. 🤔We are not getting anywhere without a better qb in my opinion…
Utep had the number 1 recruiting class in the conference last year
How many of those kids saw significant playing time this year?
Number one recruiting class in Conference USA. 🤔
Is that really supposed to mean anything? 🤡
I think the most important thing is fortifying the offensive line and getting the running game going. Waldens offense relies heavily on consistently running the ball well. It never got going this season outside of maybe two games. A dual threat QB obviously plays a role, but Jevon Jackson was a 1300 yard back last season and Kam Thomas was way more involved in the running game. I think the issue is the offensive line play was piss poor, which had a trickle down effect throughout the offense. We are not getting anywhere without a better qb in my opinion…

It’s not for sure UTEP will play those teams. Very likely NMSU, LaTech, and SHSU are there, but toss up on the rest. Missouri St and Delaware enter CUSA. Due to location, it’s likely Missouri St plays UTEP. Also possible Delaware does too.@ Utah State L

I think 6-7 wins is possible. That would mean going 4-4 or 5-3 in Conference. A lot of good points in this thread. I’m cautiously optimistic we will get to a bowl.
If that happens, I think they split those 2 games. It’s not for sure UTEP will play those teams. Very likely NMSU, LaTech, and SHSU are there, but toss up on the rest. Missouri St and Delaware enter CUSA. Due to location, it’s likely Missouri St plays UTEP. Also possible Delaware does too.
I think 6-7 wins and an ok bowl will not be out of the questionThey went 3-5 in CUSA, which is good by UTEP standards. They play a FCS school and you hope they beat them. Improve by a game in CUSA by going 4-4 and win the FCS game, that gives you 5 wins. Should be the minimum expectation.
It will certainly not be an “ok bowl”. Miners will be playing in the NM Bowl if they’re 6-6 or 7-5.I think 6-7 wins and an ok bowl will not be out of the question
This is UTEP football. There's no such thing as a not OK bowl. Any bowl is an OK bowl.It will certainly not be an “ok bowl”. Miners will be playing in the NM Bowl if they’re 6-6 or 7-5.

It is way too early...🤨🤨🤨I’ll say 5-7….maybe 6-6 if CSW can hand over the offensive play calling.

Even with #1 recruiting classes in CUSA, it will likely still take 2-3 seasons to take effect. I dont think we are recruiting a bunch of freshman starters. Problem is players can just up and leave now. It's gonna be hard. A better QB won't hurt either. We are not getting anywhere without a better qb in my opinion…

6-6 or 7-5 and the NM Bowl in year 2 would be good and give us hope for more for the incoming seasonsIt will certainly not be an “ok bowl”. Miners will be playing in the NM Bowl if they’re 6-6 or 7-5.
Other than Duhon, and perhaps Odom and Kam Thomas, I don't think there would be a mass exodus of the returning players that contributed this year. Guys will leave for other opportunities/playing time, but I don't think many would see a big NIL market. Last year, I think it was just Hubbard and Akharaiyi who moved up.Even with #1 recruiting classes in CUSA, it will likely still take 2-3 seasons to take effect. Sure, but it’s not exciting. Their last 3 bowls have all been there. It’s fine, better than staying at home, but not one player or fan has attending the NM Bowl on their wish list.6-6 or 7-5 and the NM Bowl in year 2 would be good and give us hope for more for the incoming seasons

Tyrin Smith went to Cincinnati. Another went to Oklahoma State. Multiple players went to Texas State. He seriously couldn't do better than Temple? No excuses for UTEP not to beat SHSU now
They paid their last coach 1.9 million a year.He seriously couldn't do better than Temple?
I have attending any bowl on my wish list at this point to include the NM Bowl. We aren't the type of school that has the privilege of denying a bowl invite. Should we ever be a school that goes to bowl games regularly, then that's different.Sure, but it’s not exciting. Their last 3 bowls have all been there. I attended the EV1.Net bowl in 2004, go to Albuquerque about once a year, and the opponent will be a MWC team who may be a conference opponent for years to come. I don’t share the same enthusiasm as you might.I have attending any bowl on my wish list at this point to include the NM Bowl. The classy thing for everyone involved would be to wait until after the bowl to make the announcement. I feel bad for the SHSU players. No excuses for UTEP not to beat SHSU now
UTEP coaches need to keep a lookout for some of those players that hit the portal. The classy thing for everyone involved would be to wait until after the bowl to make the announcement. I feel bad for the SHSU players.
Only thing I’d add is that Utah State/ULM/Texas is much easier than Colorado St/Nebraska/Tennessee. I think it is fair to expect at least another win in the non conference. They went 3-5 in CUSA, which is good by UTEP standards. They play a FCS school and you hope they beat them. Just seems odd for a guy from Texas to go to a place he has no experience recruiting to. He could easily wait and find a job in Texas. Temple is a tough job. They paid their last coach 1.9 million a year.
He was born in PA. Played/coached at Delaware previouslyJust seems odd for a guy from Texas to go to a place he has no experience recruiting to. He could easily wait and find a job in Texas. Temple is a tough job.
But yes, money does talk. Hopefully SHSU botches the new hire.
Yes, that is easier, but not a total cakewalk.Only thing I’d add is that Utah State/ULM/Texas is much easier than Colorado St/Nebraska/Tennessee. I think it is fair to expect at least another win in the non conference.
