NMSU vs UNM

Since NMSU is in a bad conference I'd think we should root for UNM. BTW, there is no video stream. I guess our TV deal isn't so bad. Even the Mountain West TV isn't showing it.

Hehe. I share the same feelings that Steve Kaplowitz expressed today. He was surprised with the Aggies being 4pt favorites.

good question. We should probably want both teams to win their conference and get in the tourney right.
If NMSU goes dancing again, it’d be nice to have two wins against them on our resume.

Good point. But most of their conference mates will have low NET ratings. They have a weak OC schedule and just got clobbered by 30 at Arizona.
UTEP, Aggies and Lobos all seem about the same this year. It'd be cool to see all three dancing this year.
I think NMSU is a step behind both teams. A win in Las Cruces will be a huge step for UTEP though.
That might only be due to injuries right now. When they get to full strength, they'll be right back in the NCAA giving someone a tough out. Anyways who cares about them, let's see our Miners in that position this year!
Yeah super cool! Best to have our nearby non-conference rivals accomplish the same and maybe do better than UTEP! Great for recruiting!

I think we'll start to pull away from teams once our offense catches up with the defense. I do expect that to happen with the amount of talent on board.
Right now, we're scoring in the low 70's on avg. If we can start averaging in the high 70's to 80's, we can really stamp out teams like nmsu and unm

Maybe, but I'll definitely take 2-0 over 0-2 any day because they don't feel the same
I wouldn't say handily. UTEP clamped down on defense the last few minutes that stymied NMSU which UTEP was able to convert into points for themselves. The only thing that was handily was Williams. The guy is a beast and was just shoving McCants all over the place, and McCants is a big fella.
This team absolutely has the offensive firepower to score in the 80's regularly. Williams, lathon, boum, efe, and Edward's are all capable scorers
I think you're right. Eventually these guys will settle in and start making 3s. They are capable.
UTEP is 2 more made three-pointers from averaging 80 points a game. So if they shoot a little better from three they can easily score 80. Not that it matters, as long as they play strong defense.
