Utep Sucks So Far This Year!!! Notice I said so far, before anyone starts saying the season is early. I don't know if they'll turn it around, but as of now they're a bunch of individual players with talent, but can't play as a team and suck defensively. I don't care if some Miners fans get upset at this post, but Floyd has underachieved and getting swept, by a so so Aggies team is not acceptable! Kudos to Omega for playing hard and well, but he was the only one! Sad Sad Days in Miner Land! If we win more than 15 or 16 games I'll be very surprised, but hope I am surprised. Hoping they get it right, but right now they plain Stink as a Team, Period!!!!!!!!

We can't continue to place ourselves in a position where the ONLY way we can get to the Big Dance is by winning the conference tournament. We can't put our whole season on one game. We have to win enough games during the whole season to guarantee a second conference invite.
I agree about Caldwell. Artist has been a huge disappointment so far. Lee Moore forces shots and Morris is inconsistent. Bottomed line is, I know this team has to gel, but they look worse and worse as this season has gone on and that's not good!
NMSU is no juggernaut , yet the beat us like they were one both times .
As I said, they don't play good team ball, offensively or defensively. We'll see if it changes, but right now they're just not very good! I've accepted that now for sure after this game. Sucks, but my hope of anything special this year is all, but gone

NMSU is a mediocre team that has easily beaten UTEP twice so obviously, at this point, UTEP is not even up to mediocre yet. If at the end of this season the team isn't much better and challenging for the league championship, then it really is time for Floyd to do the right thing and retire. He probably has been getting contract extensions so UTEP may not want to payout the money to can him. Plus he is a favorite son and Stull would much rather have him retire than to have to face up to firing him. If his name wasn't Floyd he would have been fired a year or two ago.
Trying to find a way to be positive.... On the bright side our younger players look pretty good..

Thomas Winn and jones have some good upside to them ....
I am surprised we haven't played Christian romine more.... He is a big body that we could try to use to get some boards

Hats off to Menzies. You can put the man in the middle of the ocean and he will pluck away a couple nice major caliber players. Both games they came out ready to play and slobber knocked UTEP. UTEP didn't back down, but NMSU just wanted it more.
Vint couldn't pay for a break. Winn, as usual, get two fouls within one minute of touching the floor, but his upside is unreal. DA is struggling. Moore is either hot or cold. The only consistent player is Caldwell; just like Lang, no big numbers but puts in a hard days work. Dumb TO's like putting foot on the line and forcing shots hurt as well
Bright side is obviously Omega. Twelve point within minutes of finally touching the floor. Put Caldwell on anyone's best man, he can do it. Thomas is progressing along. His court confidence is improving.
JWash, Lang and Hunter being gone is just to painful to bear. Just need Brodricks Jones to be ready once healthy. His presence inside will be a much welcomed return. This is still OOC season. That fat lady doesn't even know she is singing yet. UAB didn't throw in the towel this time last year because everybody was watching ODU. IMO, Floyd needs to give DA a green light a little bit more. Floyd is probably trying too hard to find their chemistry when they know amongst themselves what it is. He just needs to keep the egos in check.
