OPT UTEP vs NMSU Part II

And Golding keeps Useless( Hebb) in the game. I wonder if he is his long lost son. Or maybe nephew.

8 min scoring drought, should’ve already started running away with it like they did to us in EP and while they were 2-16 from 3, but no we let them back into the game and only leading by 4

UTEP is lucky to be holding onto a lead after going dry for a loooooong time.

The good

Good defense. Forcing NMSU to jack 3's which was somewhat successful. Thank goodness Ags were cold.

Great boards. UTEP blocking out. Big Ham with 2 offensive boards.

Cutting off interior lane passing.

Kalu rebounding well using both hands to grab rebounds (None of this one handed rebounding that opponents can slap away for steal or lose control of).

Kalu massive alley oop dunk (cut the drought).

The bad.

Dry shooting. Death Valley dry from the field.

Let NMSU back in late in 1st half. Two offensive put backs.

Bad passing led to break aways; one stopped by UTEP foul.

UTEP got good 3s early but went cold from beyond arc.

Golding gambling by keeping bench in for long time. UTEP needs speedsters. Questionable rotation.

Honestly thought we were going to give up the lead all together with that lineup Golding had in there at the end of the half. Let's hope the Aggies keep missing shots.

We've often wondered by Elijah Jones doesn't get very many minutes and the first half of this game provided an answer. He looks like a beast in one possession then looks like a liability for the next 5 minutes.

The good: Keeping Carpenter and Filipovity in check, unlike last time.
