OT: El Paso Mass Shooting

I take it you weren't happy with Bill Clinton. I don't know about the racist part but the rest fits him.

I loved Wild Bill. Not a racist, misogynist, xenophobe, or homophobe. He's a good, honest, really decent dude who lied about a blow job.

I take it by your response that you are a Tяump supporting racist and you support the mass killing of Mexicans and other Hispanics? And you support the caging, mistreatment, and killing of innocent migrant children? And you support Tяump's working on behalf of Putin and Russia and his destruction of our democracy? And you're ok with the credible allegations of sexual assault against Tяump including rape?

Careful there big guy. Wild Bill was accused of 3 rapes. Furthermore I think Beto and AOC should be partly responsible for the El Paso attack because this guy was clearly thinking that the world was going to end in 10 years. And in Dayton this nut case was a Elizabeth Warren and a Media Matters follower and quoted them on social media. And while we're blaming people let's blame Obama for the Dallas shooter because Obama talked badly about cops. And finally let's not forget Bernie Sanders rhetoric urging the shooter on the Republican Representatives.

Isn't blaming others for stupid people a lot of fun
We're currently in our 2nd civil war, Mr. 2Step. Wars don't start when armies start firing at each other. They start when civilizations are divided and citizens are fighting each other as Tяump has done with ours. We're already there.

Here’s where we, the left has gone wrong. Trump didn’t start the divide, he exposed it. He made it allowable. It was already there. Open your eyes people. And I’m on your ****ing team, but **** man, you gotta look deeper.

Agreed. Tяump has called his base to action. Tяump has called for the violence to emerge and the killings to be made in his name. Tяump has used his platform and his voice to make all of this happen openly and regularly. And, Tяump has placed a huge target on the back of every person of color including Mexicans and all Hispanics and it found its way to El Paso.

In 2008 McCain was aghast at his crowds. He did not approve and started to really tamper down his speeches. He even corrected that one lady famously. When he did that, I think he lost himself a million votes at least.

Same with Romney in 2012.

Trump was the first major politician to encourage that element.

Agree with that. And in doing so, brought out what was already lurking in the hearts and minds of more people than I ever thought it would in this day and age.

Exactly this Minermx07.

I didn't agree with McCain on any policy, but at least the man had a conscious and showed a modicum of empathy. This guy(45) he incites, instigates, foments these attitudes in his supporters.

The way people excuse this horrible person lying ...hmm I mean living on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C. is akin to being complicit with the lies and hate he spews.

No, I'm not a Trump supporter. I didn't like Bill Clinton either. I happen to see similarities between the two, especially as it comes to how they treat women. To be honest, I have problems with most politicians. I made a comparison of Clinton to Trump and you jump down my throat. I will make sure to keep my opinions to myself rather than have people like you accuse me of having opinions I don't have. If your intent is to stop discussion of issues, consider your mission accomplished. Well done.

How about this as a potential solution? Civil and legal liability for people who abaded in any way to mass shootings.

If the allowance you gave your kid goes for an AK, you're going to jail too. There needs to be more responsibility and accountability. All mass shootings must be followed by someone other than the shooter going to jail.

Bar tenders are liable for drunk drivers. Every gun shop owner should be just as paranoid of being the shop that sells to the next mass shooter. The way they are afraid of gun confiscation by the guvnt as they say.

Nope, I didn't jump down your throat nor accuse you of anything. I asked if you are a Tяump supporter and whether or not you support all of the ugliness that is Tяump. And for the record, I do not accept the false equivalence argument that is often made when people bring up the Clintons or Obama in defense of Tяump. Tяump is evil personified. The others are imperfect humans.

You can choose to not engage in discussion, of course. We're still allowed to express ourselves -- or not -- at least until Tяump and his criminal regime are able to take away our First Amendment. And make no mistake, he and his regime are trying to.

You could have simply said something like, "Nope, I'm not a Tяumpkin." Anything else you choose to do or not do is up to you. Personally, I'd welcome your participation in a discussion as I welcome anyone and everyone.

My willingness to express my views leaves me wide open for attack, criticism, ridicule, threats, whatever. I welcome it all. Tяumpkins will not silence me. Nor will opposing or dissenting views lead me to stop speaking truth to what is happening in our country today.

You should follow my lead and continue to speak out; even when others don't agree. But know that if your views are in support of hatred and violence -- as are the views of all Tяumpkins -- I and others will call you out.

It's just that it's a false equivalency for sure. Clinton when you take out the affairs is not that far from Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. I mean the 24/7 news cycle made them seem far apart, but they we'rent, which is why the Clinton's and Bush's eventually became very cozy.

I mean to it's not apples to apples.

But along those lines it does make me question why all you have to do is pass a background check to own a firearm. For God’s sake you have to take classes and so many hours on the road to get a Driver’s license.

Maybe there should be some sort of national training when it comes to purchasing/carrying a firearm. It could involve so many hours of classroom instruction but also some sort of stress courses and proficiency exam maybe to some extent that the military and Law Enforcement have to do at training. Have high stress scenarios or whatever you have to do so that people learn and understand that this is a ton of responsibility.
And maybe through that database if you’re linked to some sort of mental episode, license revoked and firearms confiscated pending some sort of appeals process.

Sydney just had a knife attack. If only. Its true you can't fix people's hearts, but you can keep weapons of war away from them.

From what I’ve read it’s because one of those is a constitutional right and the other is only a privilege.

Some countries have two year compulsory military service; therefore, the general population is familiar with small arm weapons and their intent of usage. In the U.S., guns and rifles (like alcohol) retain their value, sometimes increase, during bad economic times and the U.S. is a major exporter of fire arms. "Don't take away my social security" and "don't take away my guns!" is the motto in this land.

Odds that Wal-Mart closes the Cielo Vista store and opens up a new one down the road (Bassett or around Montana)?

The Mandalay Bay, the tower at UT Austin, the theater in Colorado and Virginia Tech are all still there. I'm glad that this Walmart is not being torn down and I will be there the first day it opens up again

Mandalay and the tower were used to shoot people. Only the gunman died at Mandalay Bay, the others were across the street. Not really the same thing as our WalMart shooting

Charles Whitman killed Edna Townsley, Marguerite Lamport and Mark Gabour in the tower and injured others. Norris Hall at Virginia Tech was never torn down. The Long Island Railway is still there.

Please don't go. We hardly knew you.

The off topic stuff is clearly marked. The UTEP game threads, recruiting threads are politically free. No need for such sensitivities.

It's not like posters are going "Dimmel's offense makes less sense than Trump's foreign policy". Or conversely, "Canales's runs this offense worse than Chicago is run".

It's pretty easy to avoid political talk.

Unfortunately, I wish this was true. Just out of curiosity, I did a simple search in the top right of how many times UTEP2STEP has posted the word Trump and he has done it 43 times. Out of those 43 posts, he did it 32 times in a thread that was not marked OT. Here is that search result:

https://utep.forums.rivals.com/search/61187/?q=Trump&o=date&c[node]=10&c[0]=42

But I do think that 1966 could solve most of his concerns if he just avoided the OT threads and muted guys like Utep2Step.

Yes he didn't start it, but ummmm, how has the left gone wrong?

If it was a Dem POTUS in the Oval Office instead of ....orange skin man....with Lavrov and Kislyak and if he or she didn't allow any domestic media in but just a Russian approved photographer and also gave away an extremely sensitive Israeli military operation deep in jihadist territory (that's what....orange skin man....gave to Russians) that Dem POTUS would be in Guantanamo with no trial.

Context man, context. Sounds like you completely missed the point.

Zing. We all know real men have unprotected sex with porn stars mere months after their wife gives birth. Something, something, locker room talk.
