Mostly pleasant surprises. Of the newcomers, we have some individuals who will contribute immediately.
My "way-too-early" thoughts are as follows:
Smith, Wade, Magee, Osborne were as advertised; all were better than than I personally expected.
I see St. Pierre developing into a solid post player.
DeShaun Highler (walk-on) contributed.
The biggest question will be the point guard position (as most of us predicted). I feel we have added depth at all the other positions, provided all of our current players stay healthy, eligible, and committed to this program.
I see Touchet starting the season at the point, and it will most certainly be interesting to see how Gilyard and Magee develop.
Finally, it was great to see some UTEP hoops again at the Don.
