I know we we played them close last year. If the game was a regularly scheduled one, I think we would have seen largely the same result. The circumstances around the scheduling made it just about the trappiest of trap game you could possibly have. Given that I don't think Kansas lost many players probably mean they weren't going to look past us.I also think KU's team is better this year as well. The harsh reality is that the game last night was essentially over ten minutes into the first half. The excuse of not having Bieniemy doesn't really apply since he played the first ten minutes of the game. We were just badly outclassed. Let's see how they respond against UNM. Not having Bieniemy for that one would definitely be a factor, with UNM's two good guards.
They may have put their subs in there and taken it easy on us. But, seeing a couple of players who were out there in garbage time, those subs would start for us. Jalen Coleman-Lands has been about a six year starter in the Big 10, Big East, and Big 12 and Joseph Yesufu who led Drake to the Tournment last year. They weren't throwing Merle Heimer and Tyler Tafoya out there. Such is the luxury of being Kansas.
Relax.
