Same crap, different year

Not sure about all the hate and dissatisfaction towards Golding. (except nonuts) We aren't UCLA who can pick up blue chip athletes at the drop of a hat after sucking for so many years. Golding was grabbing scraps to fill a depleted roster. I'm far from happy right now, but cheese n rice, calm the hell down....
Hey nowins, how many impact players did texas get last minute? I will guess not too many but hey, they started the season ranked. Guess their cupboard wasn't TOO bare, huh? Ours was.....
It’s not hate or dissatisfaction, just saying that there’s always some excuse built in when UTEP struggles. He shouldn’t be getting UCLA and Texas type players, but the objective remains the same. Get players to compete within your league and peers.

Texas bought in 7 transfers who played at a high level and 2 HS recruits it appears. Again, I am not saying we should be getting players as good as theirs, but they seem to be winning and playing well, despite “not a full year of recruiting”.

UT, even in their most mediocre of years, is one of the easiest schools to recruit to. Chris Beard has made a huge name for himself.

UTEP is probably one of the tougher schools to recruit to. Joe Golding is hardly known, and wasn’t known at all before knocking Texas off.

Not an excuse, but since you made that comparison…

I already like Golding's style over Terry's. True we're still in the young phases so we'll see how it goes. I was impressed with the use of the bench tonight to pull the team out of a rut
You are absolutely correct. There is no way that Terry would try different players to find the spark, like Golding did. Eleven deep…wow! I also appreciate the honesty in Golding’s interviews. In his postgame, he even stated that he needed to be a better coach to not get his guys to Jack up so many three’s.

Glad for the acknowledgement. However, we shot over 41% from deep tonight. That’s when you let em fly.
