Stefon's twitter got some play on the local news last night, and it is somewhat rare that UTEP grievances go public like that because El Paso local sports media don't touch that kind of stuff for fear of some type of undue influence. Now with other d1 programs, that's a different story.
Gabe Mcculley and Randy have also been vocal. There are probably others but I dont follow too many bball alumnae.
South Florida had a academic fraud scandal that the NCAA had been investigating. Antiguas brother was on the staff and had been banned from recruiting prior to his resignation.
Good point to mention kickball. That being said there has been a lot of these types of allegations recently and the coaches stay at the helm because they are winning. South Florida is 23-55 in Antigua's tenure, so this investigation helps to get rid of his a$$. It was the nail in the coffin. Im just looking for any sign we can make a mid season transition buddy. Let me dream!
Please elaborate! What is this all about? Who is Stefon? How is it related to So Fla coach firing? What are Gabe and Randy being vocal about? Don't see the point.
In general past players are being vocal on their disappointment on the UTEP bball program. Some more than others but their is a lot of frustration out there that is not from just us fans.
OK ...Thanks. Are you getting this from Twitter? Can you be specific about what Stefon, Randy and Gabe have said? Speaking of Gabe; did I hear something about him being a potential coach? Also, you can include Roy Smallwood in the list of former unhappy players and he posts right here on Digs.
If you mean the poster Roy_Bigwood, I don't think so. I could be wrong but I believe he said that Smallwood was his fav player.
If we had an athletic director that was on the ball, he would have his list of candidates narrowed and be ready to can Floyd no later than the last game. LOI signing period begins April 12th and a new coach needs to be in place by early March to get ready.
I am not the real Roy Smallwood, please let the message board record reflect this.

Re:my question earlier. Anyone know the status of Gabe Mc Culley? He was the definition of hustle, desire, determination, great attitude, etc. If every player devoted himself the way Gabe did, we would be a proud crew.

First... I did not ask who Stefon Jackson was. I asked who Stefon was! When I saw "Stefon" it did not immediately occur to me that it was Stefon Jackson and I don't have a Twitter account nor did I see the local news, since I live in Dallas.

There is no greater Miner fan on earth than yours truly and I don't appreciate your curt, unfounded remark. I doubt that there is another poster on here that had season tickets starting in 1961 (until 1977) and has seen as many games over the years as I have.
Well kappa, back in HIS day, I bet it was harder to get those tickets. Nathan does tend to go off half cocked sometimes (as do we all), but to question 1liner's fandome is just flat out dumb. I dont mean disrespect but when people tell me they are a fan because they bought season tkts in such and such year doesnt mean anything to me. You can be a great fan without many funds so they go when they can. Also some people here are much older so they bought tkts before other fans, being born first doesn't make a better more hardcore fan. Sorry if I offended you miner1liner. AEKDB.
Back in my day we didn't have these fancy "printed tickets". The ones I had were hand-written. We sat on splintered wood benches that would break off inside your skin and itch and bleed all through the night. We drank sarsaparilla, ate peanuts and if they team didn't win, we asked for our nickle back. AND WE LIKED IT!

Totally agree. If Floyd isn't canned after the season then he must have something on Stull or the prez or both.
As another old geezer on the board, having watched the Miners play FB for the 1st time in 1950 vs Arizona when both were in the old Border Conference, I'm glad there are younger fans like you that are passionate for the Miners. Just remember, we are too and have been for a while. Oh, and the Miners won that game vs Arizona. TWC had some good teams back then.
