It was a cool afternoon, no dust and only about 100 people in the stands when the last running event occurred. The conditions of the bleachers does not help matters either.

It was a great meet with perfect weather. However they got to get more schools to these things! I've been going to these meets for a while now and they use to bring in some bigger school names to either the Springtime or UTEP invitational and now it's just mostly the New Mexico schools, Juarez and unattached participants. There used to be at least a couple hundred before and lately they're lucky to get 100 or less which is sad because these athletes deserve a lot of support and UTEP has always had one of the top track and field teams in the country year in and year out. Probably poor marketing once again rears its ugly head by the athletic department.

Secondly Kidd Field Sorely needs to be renovated! Those entrance stairs are just......well there's an accident waiting to happen with them. Everything else...bleachers, sound system.......you get the point. Well sadly the Sun Bowl is still waiting for repairs and renovations so don't expect them to come to Kidd Field anytime soon.

Hopefully you'll all come out for the CUSA Championships in a few weeks. Thats the big one and these athletes deserve the stands to be packed!
