For sure not that amount. The P4 schools will now have $20M plus from revenue sharing to pay the players, which doesn't even account for money earned via NIL. For UTEP, my guess is that for very selective players, $50k is the high end. My understanding is that Tyrin Smith got about that amount to "play" in 4 games for UTEP, prior to self redshirting. Some BB players get more, but not by much.

As others have said, if he wants to go to a bigger school and experience that, can’t fault him. Can’t expect All-CUSA players to remain playing in front of 10,000 fans on Wednesday nights.

I agree with you. We’ve seen other UTEP transfers like Deion Hankins and Tyrin Smith who didn’t do much once they left UTEP. Talented players playing at G5 schools like UTEP will get their chance to make it to the NFL. Just look at recent Miners who made it to the NFL like Aaron Jones, Will Hernandez, and Tyrice Knight, just to name a few.

UTEP is losing out on a lot of good local players. Guys that are playing well for other teams. The programs need to get to the point where they can capture more of those high level recruits.

I think LJ Martin should probably think about hitting the portal. He could probably go to a bigger program and get paid. At least make BYU try and bid for him. He is a RB and should think about getting paid now.
