The one thing UTEP has going for them this year is that everyone is going to overlook them. Maybe they'll catch a team sleeping/looking ahead.

With this kind of stigma, it's the "oh hell no we better not lose to them!" kind of stigma. There is an upside; it has to end. Dimel has been through this before according to him when KState was in a very similar boat (UTEP was actually ok, at that time, back then because Stull was the HC). For what that it is worth, it has dividends. It's like the real estate agent who knows how to survive during market crashes (which happens more or less every 20 years in this country).

You’re right. Kansas St was in much worse shape prior to the Snyder rebuild. Kansas St had the nations longest losing streak at 27 and was the first FBS team to reach 500 losses. They were an awful awful football program that made teams like UTEP look respectable.

Yup and their mountain was a much higher climb too. We don't have to be great. To be honest, I would be happy if we could hover from 4 wins to 8 wins every year in our crappy conference.
