UTEP at Liberty

Fili initiated some ridiculous discussions about the Miners' chances for an at large bid before finally giving it up after our blowout loss to NMSU. There was one CUSA team coming into conference play, however, that did have realistic dreams of an at large provided they dominated the conference: Liberty. Unfortunately for the Flames, however, their play in conference hasn't been nearly as impressive as it was OOC, and those dreams are dashed. Still, I believe Liberty to be a significantly better team than we are, they're at home, and will be looking to bounce back after second conference home loss that they really should have won. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this one going our way:

Liberty comes out more prepared for a much needed win already with the top 4 in conference looking pretty competitive. Our players will not overcome the PTSD handed down by NMSU. Give me Liberty 76 or give me death (being a UTEP fan) UTEP 67.

Worst thing is I like the match up with Kalu playing. Liberty’s guards are pretty undersized and they don’t seem to have a true center that plays regularly. Given the effort from the team on Saturday and Kalu being out, I think we drop this one.
