UTEP Basketball Recruiting

He's 23 years old. He's not a "kid." Other than that, I agree with you. He's looking to get paid before he's done a damned thing. They all are.
I mean...D1 sports is essentially a job these days. He DID do a damn thing at his previous school, and when he left for a higher-paying "job" and they reneged, he got upset. Wouldn't you be upset if you left a job for one that said they were going to pay you more than what you are currently making because of how well you have performed in your current role, then once you got there they changed the terms of your employment? I know that I would.

You had to go and get all logical and make sense. ;)

Yes, looking at it that way I agree with you.

Agree, but it's not usually like that in the real world (outside of college sports now). Sounds like there are multiple players getting duped. It's shady.

It is the truth though, according to 247. Another website has him as a top 250 player.
A lot of sites confuse or conflate interest and offers. Particularly when the early "offers" were a year or so ago.

When it comes to final 3 direct from a guys x feed, that is more reliable or representative of real offers. Does anyone really think that if he had actionable offers to MS State, St Louis and ECU that his final 3 would include Binghamton?

I am not suggesting that all players are only interested in their highest level offers but many do. And in portal times, it makes sense to start at a lower level where playing time might be easier to come by. Then they can transfer every year anyway.
Verbal commits did not even show UTEP as of a few days ago. They updated it after he committed. (See the 10-31 date)

What is hard for me to understand is when I was that age, I would not trust my car to make it 100 miles let alone 2000.
Unless he is planning on flying out there and then not having a car.
