Convincing win. We do need to clean it up, but I like how we’re playing as of late. Hard to keep focus when you’re up 15 all 2nd half.

Great effort today despite the rebounding. The team chemistry from game 1 to now is night and day. Let's keep it going!
Good game by the Miners, very happy to get a CUSA Tournament win. Two things that concern me from this game:
- Our defensive rebounding still sucks (yeah, I know, it's a broken record)
- We gave up 9 points of our lead in the last two minutes. Yeah, it's not a big deal since we were able to build a 19 point lead, but still, losing whatever cushion we have down the stretch is a consistent theme with this team. It could easily come back to bite us in the ass later on in this tournament. We have to learn how to protect leads.

They out-rebounded us on the offensive end 16-8. Still a huge problem.
But our defense held them to 40% shooting and only 13% from 3. That is essentially the difference and why we won.

Good call. We really gave away some points at the end. Otherwise you were pretty dead on.
Its usually Boum, Bieniemy, or Kennedy getting the post game accolades, but gotta give a shout out to Verhoeven.
He played great defense against Trice and Ezikpe. Two big bruisers. TV denied them the entry pass most of the night, and got a few nice deflections when they did try to go inside. He matched Trice with 12 points but was far more efficient, shooting 75% on the night. He also pulled down 9 boards.

Screw 'em. They can now finish toward the bottom of their new conference. I love that UTEP beat them in football AND basketball
