They beat La Tech 64-54 today. I have watched a couple of their games and saw part of today's game. I noticed that their leading scorer Petree didn't play. Can anyone tell me why?

Petree got hurt (concussion, I believe) in the second game of the season, and never returned.

Yes they would have. They also have a lights out shooter guard who was out with an ACL injury. Baker probably has his most talented roster. They lose some good players next year, but hopefully Baker can continue to add players. I hope they upset MTSU tomorrow. Their coach (and his kid who is an assistant) are the biggest DBs in the league. Think Pera from Rice but with more attitude.
Tough to watch with so many fouls called. UTEP has had chances, but has missed a ton of layups and given up too many offensive rebounds. Jackson has been MIA on offense.
An NIT invite seems unlikely. I think they will be in the Women's Basketball Invitational, if they choose to go that route.
I am very surprised, but UTEP got into the NIT!! Opponent will be announced tomorrow and first round games are March 15-17.
Yes. There are some concerts in March in the DHC, but they are multiple dates for each round, so they could potentially play in the DHC through the finals.

I'm not in El Paso, but if I were, I'd be there. Hope the game is well attended. If El Paso is going to support UTEP athletics, this is a positive way to do it. Go Miners. Go Lady Miners.

Men’s NIT should expand to 64. It still won’t help us make it but gets us a little closer.
Too bad El Paso didn't support the Miner gals. They had a very nice season, but attendance in Lubbock apparently was better so that's why the game's at Tech.
A regular game at Tech is waaaaay better from what I hear, but we did have that great NIT run a few years ago. Should be a great game for our ladies.

Is there no interest in The Miner gals tonight? I'm watching because I have multiple friends over here that are Tech alums. Don't have any Miner alums.
Sadly, a lot of people don't follow the women's basketball team. It's unfortunately because they are more fun to watch compared to the men.
Yep. They started really unfocused, committing a bunch of turnovers, got down, and never recovered. For Baker, the key next year is keeping Arike first and foremost; I'm assuming Boyd and Jackson will return. He needs to add shooters badly. I thought talent wise, they were right up there with MTSU.
She had one big game scoring early in the year, but then faded as the year went along. I think she can be a good player offensively, but will struggle defensively. I don't envision her jumping up a level conference wise.
