Why can't we be like NMSU...

The days of taking 4 to 5 years to rebuild a college football program are behind us. With today’s transfer portal you can rebuild a program in 1 to 2 years. What Kill has done at nmsu should be the blueprint that Senter needs to implement at UTEP. Nmsu was a dumpster fire before Kill arrived and we’ve seen what a good coach can do in a short amount of time. Keeping Dimel one more year will set this program further back and alienate our ticket season holders and hurt attendance. We need to bring a new coach that can get this community excited again. The change has to come in the next couple of weeks to give the new coach time to hire his staff and start hitting the recruiting trail. There is no other option left. UTEP needs to start fresh with a new head coach.

Good thoughts but to implement change of this nature you need an AD with vision to see this process through, change has to happen at the top. so...Dismiss Dismal & Sack Senter!

Moccia raised $140k during a three-hour flight after the Auburn win. Imagine the impact if Senter had the motivation to reach out to donors in the past three weeks since our assured losing season. Could he have raised a comparable amount to part ways with Dimel?

While this thread is back, it's interesting that we were still chosen over them in the MWC despite their success.

From what it seems like we didn’t have the money to jump from one conference to another since we would owe a hefty exit fee. The coaches made a push for a more regional conference but there as pushback with some of the regents saying they should focus on education. There also was the comment to a coach to win more games then they can talk about it.
