I wonder if this "going with the hot hand" talk is just his way of leaving the door open for Leftwich to win the job back if Metz starts messing up.
Kugler's exact quote was "Ryan Metz has got the hot hand and he is going to be the quarterback for this game and going forward". I am not sure why everybody keeps leaving out the important "and going forward" words from Kugler's quote.

Brought the win for our most hated rival when UTEP was down and shouldn't have won. No brainer. How he rises up to the challenge within the next few weeks when UTEP goes up against a totally revamped Southern Miss squad will test his mettle.That's another story.
