I agree with Wisconsin. I didn't see one disparaging word about El Paso. The worst that was said about the city is that it's not a hotbed of talent, which is true. Other than that most of the talk was about how far removed we are from recruiting hotbeds. It was an interesting thread.

I thought it to be an insightful thread. Several posters agree that UTEP best belongs in the MWC, rather than in CUSA. Many thought the potential to be a strong G5 exists. Agreed, there was nothing demeaning about El Paso or UTEP.

Someone said that UTEP grads move to where the jobs are, El Paso isn't exactly South Beach, it's not a booming area, it compares to Bakersfield.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I like it here. Great weather, massive military base, proximity to another country, beautiful campus.

I would argue that El Paso is not any more isolated than Boise, ID.
