College Basketball 2020- '21

Weird, NMSU is playing in the championship game? Methuselah2Step said the Aggies “weren’t dancing this year”. Even if the Aggies lose he will fail to reckon that they made the title game, while UTEP lost in the first round again.

So NMSU sucks all year, can't play games or find a place to play. They are literally on pause half the season and now they go 9 deep and are on the verge of another NCAA appearance. Great.

Stupid Rule

Cal Baptist womens basketball team finished 24-0 and won their conference but cannot go to the Tournament.

NCAA requires a team to transition form D2 to D1 for 4 years before they're eligible for the big dance.

CBU is in year 3.
Can we get their coach?

McCasland has done a nice job at UNT. 2nd leading scorer from last season transferred to OU and they are going to their 1st NCAA tournament since 2019. He is also supposed to be a truly nice guy.
They have had a run of good guards since he came in. One got injured and 2 have transferred out to Gonzaga and OU. Still they play good D and win. Good for them. Sucks for us.

Exactly. It starts with good guard play. UNT has very little depth, but 4/5 solid two way contributors. No reason the same can't be accomplished at UTEP. Tough loss for WKU. Another example of why being in a one bid league like CUSA is so challenging.

"A member of the Georgia Tech men’s basketball travel party tested positive for COVID-19, coach Josh Pastner said Tuesday as the team is preparing to play in the NCAA Tournament. The person, whose role with the team Pastner would not reveal, is said to be asymptomatic. Pastner said it will not affect the team’s eligibility to play in the tournament, although the individual will not be able to participate in any games that the Yellow Jackets play this weekend."

"Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, the 101-year-old chaplain for Loyola Chicago, will be in Indianapolis for the first-round game Friday. The school confirmed Sister Jean has been cleared to travel, which was in doubt because of COVID-19 restrictions. "
