EP Times: Kugler burning red shirt on Powell. Why?

UTEP has 3 games left, why burn a redshirt for 3 games? TK Powell is a freshman walk-on but no need to do this, this late in the year.

Relax. I think Powell will be on the sidelines ready to play but won't actually have to unless we lose a couple of backs to injury.

But also stated in the article is Kugler's shatty arse road record. I had no idea the NMSU game is his only road win. UTEP literally has nothing to lose. If UTEP were to lose Saturday, the media will bail him out with the injury bug byline and how this year shouldn't count towards his overall short tenure here. But, if UTEP were to win, he will be hailed as an overachieving coach who has UTEP "on the cusp" of bowl eligibility who was against the eight ball and all they need is a win against salvaged title team in UNT. His coaching makes no sense to me and it's all deja vu of the Charley Bailey days. I really hope they get the two wins and start over again next year and he decides to play 21st century college football.

UTEP beat UTSA on the road last year and Kugler has beaten NMSU in Las Cruces twice.
