Both Warner and Estrada are putting up video game numbers. Warner - 36 TDs to 1 int and 81% for completions. Hope we can hold onto him. Estrada - 14+ yards per carry for 2200 yds on the season. Move over Ashton Jeanty.
Whoever gets Estrada is getting a LJ Martin type player. Kid has been unbelievable since a freshman.
Looks like we’re getting another solid recruiting class under Coach Walden. Walden and staff are doing a remarkable job getting quality players to El Paso. I hope they can also pick up some key players from the transfer portal to address immediate needs.
Does this change any of our rankings vs other conferences Fili?
It's why I still have hope with Walden. He's a questionable game day coach, but hopefully he can learn from his mistakes. He will be able to bring the talent to El paso.
A little bit right now Utep is at 990 . Now Utep is competing with the power conferences but they still in the bottom. George St and FAU are the top non power schools. Their up in the 1100s and higher. For example Ohio State is number 1 and they have around 3500 points rating. Utep is ranked 67 in the nation at 990. Well this is Rivals rating , 247 hasn't updated Uteps commits.
That’s outstanding! You have to love what Walden and staff are doing in terms or recruiting. Other UTEP coaches would use the same excuse by saying, you can’t recruit talent to El Paso. Imagine what Walden can do if we are able to go bowling next year?
