Here are some random facts that I have either thought about or come across:
- UTEP is currently 1-3 in it's last 4 Sun Bowl Invitational Tournament games. Yes, the Tournament that we host.
- The WAC passed Conference USA in the RPI this year and beat CUSA by 5 spots. CUSA had the 23rd best Conference RPI ranking this past year and finished behind all of these conferences: Patriot League, Sun Belt, Horizon League, WAC, MAAC, Summit League.
- UTEP's Passing Game has a very bad image right now, which makes this stat somewhat crazy: Last Year Ryan Metz had the second highest single season completion percentage in UTEP school History. He played in 11 games and started 7 games. He completed 64.7 percent of his passes last year, which ranked as the second highest single-season completion percentage of all time.(Stat per the UTEP Spring Game Release).
- On March 29th, Paul Weir was named NMSU "Employee of the Month" and he won a free Subway sandwich. 13 days later he left for the arch enemy in-state rival:
