Is it safe to say that we’re basically fcs now?

If I'm speaking truthfully, good bye Rice they are only good in baseball and other sports that don't make money. They're in Houston that's the only reason they got taken by AAC. N. Texas is whatever, Charlotte is whatever, ODU is whatever, Fla Atlantic is whatever. Losing Marshall and S. MISS hurts national perspiration I guess, cause they've been decent in football over a number of years. UTSA hurts, because it was the closest school and helped recruiting maybe. The other schools don't really mean much to Utep either. So whatever this CUSA 3.0 becomes, we'll deal with it the same we dealt with the teams that left us behind before and started over with new ones. This is what Utep is until we get our act together and get on the invite list next time. We're the roommate who stays on the lease year after year as roommates move out and go be successful on their own.
Rice has been in a conference with UTEP since 1996, this is the only team I will miss playing. UTSA and UNT, I am indifferent about them leaving. Sucks for fans of UTEP in those areas. Southern Miss, ODU, Marshall, FAU, UAB, and Charlotte, could care less if we never play them again. Same with Western Kentucky and Middle. Who cares?

I was intrigued when Marshall and UTEP joined and thought it would be “cool” to play them in CUSA. We haven’t played them in football in 11 years and only 4 times during the 16 years as conference mates. Meanwhile, we’ve played ODU 3 times since 2014 and maybe we will play them in Norfolk next year.

Lmao I just noticed that. I'm not gonna fix it. Autocorrect made it funnier. I'll just keep it as perspiration! 😂

UTEP is being completely left behind and will be banished and forgotten in a few years if things don’t change

Even the recent FCS call ups have 100 million dollar plans to upgrade facilities. I've been saying we need a master plan and Senter shouldn't ask for a penny until he has a goal to work towards to. He should ask his BFF Dimel to help him make a power point presentation.

We are good on the basketball practice facility and coaches offices. In order of need I think are...
1. Sun Bowl Renovation estimated cost 15-20 million
2. Locker room and Larry K Durham Center, Weight room, etc... Update/Remodel estimated cost 8-10 million
3. Either indoor football practice facility or some kind of major improvement estimated cost 15-30 million
So at least 45-60 million in improvements would at least be a start.

Sweet marmalade! Here we go again with the UTSA comparisons. UTSA is actually behind the curve but it pointless saying that.

Imo Sun bowl renovations should be at the very bottom of the list. Maybe chairback the gold sections which should only cost 2 million or less.

We need to make it more attractive to recruits not for fans.

1. Totally agree
2. They have. But if you want OU or UT type locker rooms that's another story.

3. UTEP doesn't have that but even some P5 schools would like to have a stadium like the SB with fantastic office views.

Top priority is electrical and concrete repair (not sure if that has been done) to SB. Upgrade booths and corporate boxes/seating.

Offer more academic programs as well. A lot of your recruits do want a piece of paper you know.

10 years ago, they barely started their football program, jumped ahead of us conference wise, and were in the Top 25 this season for several weeks. UTEP hasn’t done that.

Meanwhile, we have this illusion of basketball success and have made the NCAA tournament as much as they have since their football program began. And they have a “high school” arena.

Nobody here really cares about track and academics here. Only those that try to make themselves feel better about UTEP pretend to care about it and make it seem like it’s important.

They just remodeled the sun bowl. It looks great.

We can thank Terry for that. He brought our locker rooms to the 21st century. Very comparable to some of the top programs in the nation.

This is how the old ones looked. Almost identical to our current football ones.

He brought our locker rooms up but put our basketball program at the bottom of the conference. Good trade off?
