He was a spread innovator, OC at Northwestern when they exploded onto the scene with the spread and won a share of the Big Ten. Then he was the OC at Oklahoma and (so I've heard) had a pretty good run there. Thence to Indiana, a notoriously bad football school, taking them to bowl games the last two seasons and always putting up a bunch of points.
If we want to be a spread team I would jump all over that.
