Uh, these are the promotions for last year. Unless, of course, we've changed our schedule, and are going to honor DA once again on senior night. Still, the point the our marketing department is inept is a valid one.

Point taken. But what do you expect? The UTEP Bookstore had New Mexico Bowl T-shirts on the front page of their site at full price for years.

Hopefully the new AD will shake up our marketing department.

Oh, I don't expect anything quite honestly, but I'm just amazed that this happens at the D-1 level every year and nobody in the athletic department corrects it.

I was VERY shocked that they gave away Aaron Jones bobbleheads.

I think we’ve learned that UTEP doesn’t plan ahead their promotions. We had this same discussion with another poster at the start of football season. Once it was all done and said the promotions UTEP did have were pretty good.

UTEP has about 25,000 students now. What percentage of these students actively support the athletic teams? What percentage would support the teams if an effort was made to cultivate that support? My point is, a promotions department would go a long way solely in getting the students vested in athletic programs.
