OT: Corona virus Questions

That’s crazy! How can Wal Mart be so lack. Just goes to show government bows down to big business. They shut down all the mom and pops and force people into crowded superstores. Just the opposite of what should be happening.

The problem I have with this story is that I live in NM. The NMDOH website isn't working. So, if you don't get a text, you have to call and wait on hold for like an hour. Everyone in my family got tested Tuesday. We found out today that some tested negative. The others still don't have results.

So the people that tested positive may have tested positive 10 days ago. The state needs to get its shit together. Results are taking 5 to 20 days! That Wal-Mart could be way worse by now or alot better who knows?

NM may be slow to return testing results, however I will say your gov., Lujan Grisham, is doing something right. Your state of over 2 mil had only 234(?) positive cases reported for yesterday. My county, which is only about 1/20 the size, had half about as many positive cases.

Im in Taos right now, and have been for about the last 5 days, and measures are being taken to slow the spread.

Hope the rest of your family’s tests come back negative,

You're a brave person visiting Taos. Friday she was explicit to not visit NM; drive thru and keep going.

Not gonna happen! I just believe the government has handled this backasswards.
Instead of companies shortening their hours, they should have expanded, having fewer people in the stores at one time.
We all see what that dumbass Como did with the nursing homes. There was no common sense in that decision.
Here we have the mayor at one time say the sidewalks at parks could be used but not the grass? So it would be ok to kick a soccer ball along the path but nowhere else.
But letting Walmart, Target open and sell everything, what about the small clothes store or flower shop who would social distance much easier.
Being conservative or liberal doesn’t mean you have to lose the common sense the Good Lord gave us.

Exactly common sense over party loyalty.

I mean common sense is things like swallow Clorox for Corona, like open the economy in Easter. Like saying Spring would end the virus, like claiming victory over the virus in February.

Common Sense.

Like burning and looting business are going to wipe out racism, tearing down statues is going to make be vote for a dem, defunding police is going to make any city safer, BLM actually cares about black lives.

Actually, most viruses do subside substantially in the heat. I think even the top experts are surprised that its thriving in this heat.

I was optimistic and really thought we would be done with this by now. But now it feels as if the virus won at this point.

Yeah but you expect better than the President winging it and going off of layman’s knowledge.

It’s not like he doesn’t have experts.

C'mon man its Trump. No one knows more about Coronavirus than him.
Trumpkin or Bidenkin?

Thanks for posting this. The flu is deadlier.
Right. I mean why else why the Department of Health be flipping out about it? And I'm sure a former director of Planned Parenthood turned anti-choice advocate is an infectious disease expert and definitely doesn't have a political agenda.

We must have some crappy influenza doctore in the state. I know the CDC is now run by Stalin and the Deep State whose stated mission is only to destroy President Trump. But, they do say there are 39 to 56 million cases of influenza cases per year and 24 to 60K deaths. So Texas has .07% (30,000 out of 39,000,000) or .05% (out of 56,000,000) of the total cases of flu yet has either a half or a sixth of the total deaths. Something is really wrong in Texas.

The Flu might be deadlier, but there is a vaccine that prevents many deaths. COVID has no vaccine, people are still dying from it daily and long term effects are unknown.

You're right about the unknown long term affects and we won't know that for years most likely. We do know that there are lots and lots of flu deaths every year, even with a vaccine. When a vaccine becomes available for covid 19, people will still die from it, just as they now die from the flu.
