My Dad got polio. His upper right side of his body was pretty much paralyzed. My parents made sure I got every vaccine that was recommended.
Things in El Paso seem to be improving right? At least judging by the number of new cases.
Looks like deaths are catching up with previous high numbers. Fortunately our numbers and hospitalizations are coming down a few weeks after Thanksgiving. If we can get through Xmas and the holidays while starting phase 1 of the vaccine then there is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.
I re-read some of this thread from the beginning.... Man, were we naive back then.
Did you think it was gonna get this bad? I listened to the scientist and I didn't think we'd be hitting (in El Paso) 100k cases before the end of the year.
I wrote in one of the threads that got erased that scientists were predicting 200-300k dead, but it could be more. Pandemics have been a thing historically. Thankfully we’ve lived in a time of vaccines. We got off pretty easy, historically speaking.
Germs more than guns is what killed the Native Americans.
That nurse picked a hell of a time to make that blunder. Now all the conspiracy theorists are coming out of the woodwork.
