OT: Corona virus Questions

El Paso is out of control. 4% of the population is infected as per local officials reported on Sunday. As indicated by science experts, above 1% makes it difficult to trace & control. 1,550 cases this morning. Medical experts from outside say El Paso actually has a pretty good hospital/health care system, however; the pandemic is bending the local system badly.

I want to see this thread to be put to rest, soon. I'm praying for a miracle.

Although the numbers show about 4%, I think its more like 10-20% due to asymptomatic cases or people just not getting tested. Covid is definitely running its course, but there is still a long way to go.

"Health officials also announced 994 new cases. It brings the number of known active cases to 34,487.

For perspective, El Paso County has more active cases than Dallas County and Harris County (Houston area) combined.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Dallas County has 14,120 active cases. Harris County has 12,961. Combined, the two counties have an estimated population of 7.3 million people.

El Paso County has a population of close to 840,000.

Hospitalizations increased to 1,120, which is nearly a record. There are 313 Covid-19 patients in El Paso's ICUs"

Why do some of these people/families who get sick want to tell the rest of us to be careful? Yes we know already. Hopefully he gets better.

Treatments appear to be working?

A family friend had a brother (an elderly aged male) who also took the treatment and made a good recovery and is sitting up and eating on his own at the Providence Transmountain hospital.

That’s great to hear. Hopefully with the vaccines due to come out we’re turning the corner.

Glad he's doing well, but your family friend's brother didn't get this monoclonal antibody.

Also I'm not sure why patients in the convention center are getting it since they are recovering from hospitalization. Criteria right now is meant for preventing hospitalization.
