Uhh, frequent trips to the tourney? 8 appearances since 2012.So who is giving money to NMSU?? How are they able to get better recruits in Basketball??
It will be interesting if they find that Title IX somehow mandates that NIL collectives must distribute funds equally between male and female athletes.
Would be a huge contradiction. NIL is there for individual players mostly regardless of sex. That is up to donors to decide whether they want to spend money on female athletes. And there will be very few schools that would be putting that much money into a female NIL.It will be interesting if they find that Title IX somehow mandates that NIL collectives must distribute funds equally between male and female athletes.
Exactly AND is just a name now that's means nothing. It's pay for play so the ladies may get left behind (although a few have cashed in).Would be a huge contradiction. Just for the record, I am one who thought the stipends that student athletes were already receiving should just be increased. It was obvious that a whole can of worms was gonna be opened by paying college athletes NIL $.Everyone wanted the student athletes to be paid, but nobody thought about everything it would entail. Sometimes smart people are very stupid.
Yep. NIL was an attempt by the NCAA to keep costs from impacting their members' (and their) bottom lines by using booster money. We know that in the past, a major function of the NCAA was regulating/punishing this type of activity. The hypocrisy is real.Just for the record, I am one who thought the stipends that student athletes were already receiving should just be increased.
