RIP Al Tolen

Most people won't recognize the name because he played before Haskins was coaching. Al Tolen was a great guard for Texas Western in 59-61 and today his number and jersey are honored in the Don Haskins Center. RIP to a Miner great

I think it was one; maybe two years before Haskins arrival that TWC played Arizona State and each team scored over 100 points. Al Tolen and Nolan Richardson combined for around 75 to 80 points. Does anyone know how to get a record of the game? I'm just guessing at the numbers.

Can't find the box score, but it was 119-103 ASU in 1961.

I remember he was a Miner Legend back when they were doing that. Since he was pre-Haskins, no one seemed to know who he was and didn't get much of an ovation.
