"What did you learn in your season at UTEP?I think coming out of high school I wasn’t fully mature yet and didn’t really realize how far I was away from home. It will be a lot easier to drive 40-45 minutes to ISU than drive 19 hours or fly all the way to Texas. That was a factor into (transferring). I learned a lot about myself. Being really isolated from my parents, grandparents, all that, really helped me grow up a lot more, just making decisions on my own. I think that has really helped me realize what I want out of school, basketball — really just anything in life. With basketball, realizing how hard I have to work to get on the court, to be a contributor to a team. Those are the things that really opened my eyes the first year of college."
