Those were great years basketball wise, football not so much. I would travel with my dad to a lot of games in Tempe, Tucson, Albuquerque and even up into Utah. The fans in Utah were the worst, they would throw almost anything onto the court with a bad call. Cups, coins and one time a big round charms lollypop missed Haskins by a few inches before crashing onto the court. Arizona had a place called bear down gym I think it was called which was a poor excuse for a high school gym before they got McKale Center. Arizona also had this guy with a big pow wow drum and he would sit behind the opposing teams bench an bang on it most of the game. If UTEP could have stayed with that bunch WOW what a conference we would be in.
