Well, Senter did hire that coach before the 2016 and they made the fcs playoffs. He did have a 5-5 record before today's money game at ranked Clemson, sporting only 65 schollies and played Clemson about the same as UTEP played ranked Oklahoma with 85 schollies. Not sure you are making the point you think you are.

I don't know about you guys but I was expecting the Citadel to win this game

A losing record and having to get blown out in money games was the “punchline” and the similarity to UTEP.

And yes I know UTEP is not a military school so no need to point that out either.
