WOW! How does he say he wants to knock the borders down but lives in a gated house and locks his doors at night? That is an insult to our troops who have died and fought for our country, to keep us safe. Beto is a socialist and his way of thinking is why he will never become president. What is going to happen when he opens those borders and allows of those immigrants to cross, is he going to allow them to go to his house and give them shelter food? We all are going to have to pay the price one way or another. I understand why that guy started this thread because there are some dangerous things that are going to happen here in el Paso, that only a few know. Politics are a comedy show. That damn wall has been there for like 10 years and nobody has cared or made a big deal about it when it was being build. Now it it is terrible and needs to come down because Trump likes walls.
5 years ago, someone could have rented a bulldozer and knocked down the Durangito neighborhood and nobody would have even cared. Now politics gets involved and they want to build an arena, and now Durangito is the most important neighborhood ever in EP and a historical icon.

The wall and the security measures have always been controversial. I know I've heard people talk about the "good ole days" when you could go to Juarez for lunch. Now its a longer line with more scrutiny and security. The cities are no longer as connected as they once were. And yeah there are some good reasons why that division is necessary. Although, in my opinion, some flavor and vibrancy were lost when it became harder to cross.
Yes, politics are more controversial now. Things have gotten heightened for a variety of reasons. Both sides own some of it. I'll give you that. Politics is a shit show. We've lost the ability to reason logically and work together productively. It's sad.

That’s true. Similar to how for the last 15 years Cd Juarez has been one of the most dangerous cities in the world and El Paso one of the safest in the USA. Now all of a sudden it’s a national emergency and we need the wall to stop the violence from spilling over. Cartels know the minute they start shitting where they eat the money is gone.
I don’t have a problem with the wall. Build the damn thing but don’t justify it with blatant lies.
