Couldn't hurt attendance. Maybe Speaking rock could get Motley Crue back together for a halftime show. It could be like 1989 in the Sun Bowl, wrap around draws, and 'girls, girls girls'..
Or maybe we can have a die hard night. Free admission to anyone who was actually alive the last time UTEP won a bowl game.
What about the UTEP band? They just don't play at halftime anymore?
That is a dumb idea. With a fifteen minute halftime it would take around 5 minutes to put the stage on the field and take it off the field. Maybe 8-10 minutes max for the band to sing. Unless UTEP could extend the halftime, it wouldn't work.
While Coach Kugler looks for ways to turn around his season, the Sun Bowl is starting to deteriorate. The stadium is 53 years old and it looks like a facility in need of a $50 million facelift. Prior to the New Mexico State game, a small piece of concrete in the east concourse area fell and needed to be repaired. The athletic department is trying to fundraise in order to add suites in the south side of the stadium and rebuild the press box. The Sun Bowl needs a total renovation to bring it up to speed with most modern college football stadiums. My wish is that permanent seating will replace the bleachers in part of the Sun Bowl.
Hey Kappy600 it is not just the Sun Bowl, but the bleachers at Kidd Field need to be renovated as well. Might as well add Memorial Gym too.

Rumor has it that Stull will announce the renovations for the Sun Bowl when he feels like it and I think it will get done.
However, that article by Kap has to be a "right back at ya!" at Stull for the media guerilla ambush done on him by Floyd. If not, Stull sure had it coming.

UTEP should offer a fund raising campaign that allows you to create an offensive play and Pease has to run that play in a game if you donate $500 or more towards the renovation of the Sun Bowl. This is a win win for both the university and the football team. Now our offense will finally be unpredictable and we might have a chance to finally score more than 14 points in a game and help out the defense. The opposing teams DC has to game plan all week now and not 2 hours before kickoff.
Attendance is a direct result of losing. Every other school in the country would have the same issues if the lost five in a row in embarrassing fashion. If you get absolutely embarrased by Army and then lose to god awful FIU attendance will plummet. There is nothing they can do right now to put lipstick on this pig. When the team is putting out these pathetic displays week after week, there is no halftime show or fan entertainment that can bring back attendance.
As for the renovations the fund raising is moving along. I fully expect them to announce it by the end of the year. Its Stull's legacy piece, it will be by far the biggest project ever done by the athletic department. Stull is already selling suites.

I know people who have been approached by Stull to buy suites and or donate to the project.
