This is on Wilson

If this happens it would be tremendous for the university and the community since potential law school students don’t have to leave and incur the expenses to attend a law school.

If this does happen I hope UTEP sets a quality standard for admission and graduation. You don’t want to pass a bunch of students who bomb the Texas Bar Exam.

Don’t hold your breath. I just heard Senter and Golding will be responsible for recruiting law students for the first incoming class.

It’s too bad UTEP was not selected to open a four year Medical School in EP. Former UTEP president Natalicio made every effort to get the Med School under UTEP, but it went to TT instead. Maybe UTEP can add a Dental School in the future and expand in other areas like AI, Computer Engineering and Cybersecurity.

Brain Drain is as evident as ever now. Hopefully these things create some change or at least a slowdown.

As an aughts graduate, I can remember the EP Times piece in 2003 on brain drain.
Having all these options like the potential law school, pharmacy, and TTUs Med school - all are great opportunities.

I think TT has a dental school

Now. I guess a question that I have is whether there are opportunities for lawyers in El Paso. Or does this benefit people who want to graduate from law school and leave the city.

They probably need Spanish speaking lawyers for all the people getting deported? Immigration lawyers are probably needed.
